What these jobs ask of a pump company
An LNG or petrochemical site is a city with a gate. Everyone is badged, every piece of equipment is inspected on the way in, and the pour window was set by a scheduler months ago. Our job is to be there with the right boom, a backup plan, and the paperwork done.
- Multi pump pours. Tank foundations and pipe rack footings go in big. We stage two, three or four booms and line them up so the trucks never wait.
- Long reach and long line. The truck often cannot get near the form. The 56 and 63 to 65 meter booms, plus system pipe off the boom tip, cover the distance.
- Nights and weekends. Plant work pours when the plant says. Dispatch staffs it.
- Site requirements. Badging, drug and background screening, site specific safety orientation: ask for what the site needs and we bring the records. Which of these is true for Star today? Answer
Where
Southwest Louisiana around Lake Charles, the Texas Gulf Coast, and the south Texas coast toward the border. Every one of them within a day of a base with a mechanic behind it, because a pump with no support on a plant job is a missed pour and a very expensive morning.
